Chloe Stroll debuts new album:
Bloom in the Break

On Tuesday, NMM had the pleasure of joining the music press for an intimate evening celebrating the release of singer-songwriter Chloe Stroll’s debut album, Bloom in the Break.

The launch took place at the warm and stylish members’ club Upstairs at Langan’s, where Chloe performed live to an audience of family, friends, and select members of the press. Her set was woven with an insightful Q&A hosted by broadcasting legend Kate Thornton, offering the room a rare glimpse into Chloe’s creative world.

Chloe has been creating music since 2012, but after a creative refocus in 2021, she poured herself into what would become her first full-length body of work. While many know Chloe as the wife of Olympic snowboarder Scotty James, daughter of billionaire Lawrence S. Stroll, and sister of F1 driver Lance Stroll, this evening was a reminder that Chloe is an artist in her own right – and the spotlight belonged solely to her.

The standout moment of the night was Chloe’s performance of lead single I Stood My Ground. The song’s complex vocal pitch changes translated even more powerfully in person,  than on the record. The performance visibly moved the room — and, as our photographer put it, gave them goosebumps. Chloe later told NMM that the track was her favourite performance of the evening, even though she had expected it to be the most difficult to pull off — a reminder that the songs on Bloom in the Break carry real risk and reward on stage.

That theme of connection carried throughout the night. When asked about her inspirations, Chloe emphasised what matters most to her in songwriting:

“Adele, Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi”
“Artists who’ve really been authentically themselves"

Authenticity, she explained, is not just a value but the foundation of her creative process. Every track on Bloom in the Break is rooted in emotion and experience — each one a snapshot of something Chloe needed to express. It’s this sincerity that allows her music to feel both deeply personal and universally relatable.

Much of the album was written and recorded during her pregnancy with her first child, Leo Harry James, a time she says transformed her perspective on songwriting and became a profound source of inspiration.

“You look at life differently when you realise you’re bringing life into the world.”

And yet, for all the hard work and anticipation around release day, Chloe’s focus remained refreshingly grounded. When asked how she planned to celebrate, she smiled and said:

“I just want to go home and see my husband, my baby, and go to a movie and cuddles.”

A sentiment that perfectly captures who Chloe is: a rising artist with a debut album full of passion, yet someone who treasures the quiet, real moments just as much as the big milestones.

Bloom in the Break is out now — a debut filled with authenticity, storytelling, and a voice that proves Chloe Stroll is here to stand her ground.
