The opening day of Isle of Wight Festival brought sunshine, packed crowds and a stacked line-up featuring some of the UK's biggest names alongside a new generation of rising stars.
Festival-goers were treated to performances from Perrie, Good Neighbours, Tom Grennan, Overpass and Alessi Rose throughout the day, while Two Door Cinema Club delivered a hit-filled set that kept spirits high across the site.
As evening arrived, Isle of Wight favourites Wet Leg took to the Main Stage in one of the day's most anticipated performances. Frontwoman Rhian Teasdale emerged during sunset in a dramatic cloud of smoke, instantly commanding the audience's attention. Backed by the band's infectious blend of indie-rock and post-punk energy, Teasdale's trademark snarls and charismatic presence captivated the crowd from start to finish.
The night belonged to Lewis Capaldi, making a triumphant return to the festival stage. Mixing his signature humour with emotional honesty, the Scottish singer-songwriter had the audience laughing between songs before delivering the powerful vocals that have made him one of the UK's most beloved artists.
Capaldi's set proved to be one of the most emotional moments of the day, with fans singing every word back to him. Before leaving the stage, he shared exciting news with the crowd, saying: "I'm going to make a new album, and I'm going to try to come back as quick as I can."
It was a fitting end to a memorable first day on the island, setting the tone for an exciting weekend ahead.
