Members of Geese, Tame Impala and King Gizzard Spotted Recording Together in Perth
Psych Rock Supergroup Incoming!
Fans of psych, indie and prog rock may want to pay very close attention right now. Members of Geese, Tame Impala and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have been spotted working together in a recording studio, sparking major speculation about what could be brewing behind the scenes.
The unexpected collaboration appears to have grown out of Geese’s recent Australian tour, which brought the New York band to Perth, where several high-profile musicians seem to have crossed paths. Photos shared online by Geese member Sam Revaz reveal an intriguing line-up including Kevin Parker of Tame Impala on guitar, King Gizzard multi-instrumentalist Ambrose Kenny Smith on bongos, and Nick Allbrook of Pond behind the drum kit.
At the moment this looks like a one-day studio meet-up, so it may simply have been a jam session between friends. Still, the fact it took place in a recording environment has fans hoping that something bigger could emerge from the session. If these scenes really do collide, the result could be one of the most exciting psych-rock collaborations in recent memory.
